Three Decades of Experience. Practical Guidance for Today.

Ron’s work with dogs began more than three decades ago, long before Building Better Dogs. Over the years, he has trained his own dogs, helped owners and club members work through training challenges, and mentored others in handling, communication, and technique.

His background spans conformation, protection events, weight pulling, hunting environments, obedience, behavior, and everyday family life. Ron also established the East Coast American Bulldog Alliance. These experiences shaped his understanding of dogs and the importance of clear communication, timing, consistency, and owner education.

Today, Ron brings that experience to personalized training for dogs and their families. Through positive reinforcement, hands-on coaching, and support between sessions, he helps owners build skills they can use in everyday life.

Experience Across Canine Disciplines

Ron established the East Coast American Bulldog Alliance, an American Bulldog club whose members participated in dog shows, protection tournaments, weight pulls, and wild boar hunting. Working with dogs in different settings helped shape his practical view of training: communication must be clear, skills must work outside a classroom, and the person handling the dog must understand how and why the training works.

Mentoring & Education

Over the years, Ron has helped dog owners and other trainers improve communication, handling, and training technique. Building Better Dogs continues that same teaching-focused approach today by coaching both ends of the leash.

Building Better Dogs Today

Today, I offer personalized in-home training in Mobile and Baldwin Counties. I work hands-on with you and your dog, then extend that support through the Building Better Dogs Client Training Portal, where you can review lessons, submit video homework, and receive feedback between sessions. I adjust training based on your dog's progress.
